Marathon Contracts: Pace the Run, Do Not Greed It
Bungie’s Marathon is an extraction PvP game. Contracts are a timer against other runners, not a checklist you finish at all costs.
Pick a contract you can finish loud or quiet
Some contracts force gunfire. Only take those when your kit can win a third party. Quiet scan jobs are for depleted runners.
If the map already sounds like a war, skip the noisy objective. Marathon punishes the team that starts a new fight on a hot POI.
Watch extracts while you still have ammo
Extract camping is part of the genre. Approach from an odd angle and leave if the door is already contested.
Drop junk if it slows you. A live runner with one good mod beats a dead runner with a full bag.
Reset on a bad spawn
If two teams land on you, do not ego the 1v6. Break line of sight and take a lesser contract on the next pocket.
Marathon runs are a session, not one hero raid. Living to queue again is the real streak.
